From early childhood, we are surrounded by expectations - from family, friends, culture, society. We internalize those expectations and experience their impact on our health, career, finances, relationships. Sometimes it manifests as perfectionism or Imposter Syndrome…sometimes as anxiety, grief, depression and stress. We are always trying to live up to something, real or imagined. In the effort to please everyone, we are often left exhausted, defeated, feeling like a failure. So maybe it’s time to rewrite that script imposed upon you…or the one that you imposed upon yourself.
You may be seeking therapy for the first time, or you may have tried therapy before and felt you didn’t get anywhere. At Sound Guidance, we integrate the Expressive Arts therapies - art, music, movement, poetry, play - with Energy Psychology as well as more talked-based modalities like CBT, Mindfulness, Narrative/Schema Therapy, Internal Family Systems, to engage in a more whole-brain experience. This supports deeper understanding, greater expression and processing, and exploration of your desired path moving forward.

We work as a team, as co-creators, to find what works for you, harvesting tools from a variety of therapeutic modalities - focused on a core awareness of the body-mind connection - to help heal past wounds, clarify your goals, and access your deep well of wisdom to support greater balance and joy.
Sound Guidance is owned by Dianna Rose, MA, LMHC, MT-BC, NMT. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State, as well as a nationally certified Music Therapist with specialized training in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) from the Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy.
Dianna received her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in Expressive Arts and Music Therapy, from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. She also trained in Sound Therapy under Dr. Pat Moffitt-Cook at the Open Ear Center on Bainbridge Island, WA.
Dianna has worked in community health and in private practice.
Aside from her counseling practice with neuro-typical adults, she supports neuro-diverse individuals including adults and children with IDD, as well as acute and pathological brain issues like TBI, stroke, dementia, and Parkinson's.
Dianna is also the music director, percussionist, and vocalist for Bet Alef Meditative Synagogue in Seattle. She enjoys traveling, music (especially Jazz), The Arts, vegan cuisine, traveling, her family, and her animal companions.
